What if your dance partner doesn't like to grind, and that's the only type of music your prom plays?

My prospective prom date and I are both Christians. We're not perfect, but we strive constantly to get better. I don't mind grinding/freak dancing, as long as it's not totally obscene. The thing is, I don't even want to ask my date if he'll be okay with it, so how do I go about trying? And if he doesn't (but I hope that he'll be like every guy and submit to his hormones...doesn't that sound horrible of me?), if he doesn't, then is there ANY other way we can dance with being so close?

And how do I go about asking him to prom? My fears are that he has the following reasons to say no: His own prom is on the same night. He might not like the music they play at prom. And thirdly, what if he doesn't want to spend money on a tux to go with a girl he barely knows? What if your dance partner doesn't like to grind, and that's the only type of music your prom plays?
';Submit to his hormones'; lol.....

Usually I hear about girls who aren't comfortable grinding, this is the first time i've ever heard of a guy having this problem.

I don't think you'd be able to get any closer than grinding, the next closest thing would probably be like slow dancing. Which hardly compares to grinding. If you want to see if he'll grind without actually asking him to grind, i'd say go on the dance floor just dance a bit (closely) then just turn around and sort of start grinding on him, i'm sure he'll understand what you want him to do, especially since everyone else around you will be doing it. Then just see how he responds. If he's uncomfortable he'll simply say so, but I doubt he'd be anything but happy at that point.

As for asking him to the prom.. The fact that both your proms are on the same night doesn't really do you any good. That being said, you'll need to ask him anyways because you'll never know if you don't ask. My only suggestion would be to just get it over with and ask before he asks another girl, or before another girl asks him. You sound like a very decent person, I see no reason why he wouldn't want to go to prom with you anyways.

Good luck, and have fun at your prom!
