PLEASE Help me identify this movie...?

It made me cry.

I think it began as an inde. film about 3 years ago but I'm not sure.



It's called ' a home on the edge of nowhere' or ' a house at the end of nowhere' or something like that.



The setting is in a small town in about 1962.

It's about two teenage boys. One is cool, attractive, but has no family. One is a little geeky and is gay and comes from a typical 50's 2 parent family . They met in H.S., became best friends and the mom of the gay teen let his friend move in they bonded for life. he was like her 2nd son. I think he was her favorite. He liberated the house and everyone was in love with him in a different way. He even taught Mom how to smoke a joint and slow dance. lol. He wasn't gay but he would snuggle up in the bed with his best friend and comfort him. He knew he was gay and in love with him and it was ok because he was like a brother to him. He even kissed him once. fast forward --- they got older, the gay son wen't away to college, graduated , and ended up in Manhattan or something. The other guy stayed close to mom, learned how to bake and opend up a bakery or something.



Anyway they loose touch for years, dude moves to manhattan, his friend has a best friend %26amp; roommate who is a funky bi-chick who he has a very intamate relationship with, She sleeps with his brother, the other brother has a fit and feels left out, she ends up pregnant, which one is the baby's daddy - who knows, who cares ? not them. they are sooo happy, they move and start an alternative style family ( it is now about 1973), go buy a house in the country ( a fixer-upper) Mom comes to visit and meet the baby mamma, she approves of her and admires her courage ( a very touching scene). Dad has MS and is on a cane now, the baby is born, The gay guy freaks out and starts crying in his brother's arms when he discovers what looks like a liesion on his body.... I never saw the end.



What is the actual name of this movie, Who are the actors?



Even though I told most of the story, get it anyway . U wont be dissapointed. It's pretty long (as u can see) and I still left a lot out.
