How can I get over the jealousy of my girlfriend going to prom with someone else?

I'm really stuck in a hard place here and need some help...



My girlfriend has never liked going to dances with her boyfriends.. because they get jealous... and I admit it might make me a LITTLE jealous if she goes off with some other guy.. but I wouldn't be too bothered by it.. I mean it's a dance after all.



We were talking about it tonight and she got really upset at me and started telling me how she doesn't even have any friends and how she doesn't have a group. I know she got upset.. not at me so much as what we were talking about (her not having many friends or any group to go with).. she told me to just leave her alone.



I know things would be easier for HER if I told her to just go with someone else instead of me.. so she wouldn't have to worry about the jealousy and stuff... but at the same time.. if she goes with someone and I don't get to share that with her or even DANCE with her at all.. I will be super jealous (even more than being there and her dancing with other guys). SHe will be going with some other guy.. and she will be freaking with him.. you know he'll get all excited and start wanting to feel up on her and stuff... then they have the WHOLE night together.. and the limo ride home... that would make me super jealous. UGH. I need some help.



So should I tell her to just go with someone else so it's easier on her (and then just deal with my jealousy on my own that night)?



Or should I just tell her I wouldn't be jealous with her dancing with other guys if I went? (even though she might still be uncomfortable and make her night weird)?How can I get over the jealousy of my girlfriend going to prom with someone else?

If you are jealous, then that means she has control. She can use that to her advantage. Try not so show that point of weakness to her, and things will go smoother. It's alright to feel jealous, but it is never ok to act jealous. It's one of the biggest turnoffs and you will eventually push her too far away. Right now, you should say that you don't mind if she dances with other guys and that you'll take her to the dance. She will dance with other guys, and you'll talk to your friends or dance with other girls. Tell her she doesn't even have to dance with you, you don't care. Act nonchalant and shrug your shoulders, then say, ';but anyway...'; and change the subject. It gets them every time.

jealousy = insecurity or mistrust. if you dont trust her, you dont belong dating her. if your insecure, thats YOUR problem to deal with, NOT hers. if you make it hers, it will ruin the relationship. be a man and deal with it yourself.

You might be acting too jealous around her every day if going to the prom with her would make her feel uncomfortable or weird. The only other answer is that she wants to go to the prom with someone else, touching and feeling, and in the limo etc...and this is her lame way of telling you that.

Man, you need an upgrade! If going with some other guy would make her happy you should think seriously about finding a new girlfriend or at least someone who appreciates your company. Whatever you do, don't sit at home and think about it or you'll go crazy. Go kick it with some friends or maybe find some cute girl to hang out with. One more thing. If you are upset don't get all wasted because it will make things worse, especially if you call her drunk. Take the higher ground and find someone better.
